Topic:  Focus 21st Century Minority Leadership Executive Board


Focus 21st Century Minority Leadership Executive Board will host an education forum from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13th.  It will be held at the Virginia Street Baptist Church Activity Building, located at 209 S. Virginia Street, in Hopkinsville, KY.  The forum will give the community an opportunity to speak with local educators and school board members about the upcoming changes in our public school system.  Everyone in the community is invited – especially parents and students.  Refreshments will be served.  The public is invited.

Topic:  “Next Level” Tour


Pastor Garfield Curlin and All Nations House of Prayer will be hosting the “Next Level” tour with 20-year Gospel legend, Pastor John P. Topic:  “Judgment House 2014”

Topic:  Apologetics Conference


There will be an Apologetics Conference at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN, on Saturday, November 1st, from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  The theme is “Defending Truth in a Culture of Deception”.  The NRB Network is presenting this event.  Tickets are $15 for students, ages 13-25; $35 for adults until 10/15/2014; and $45 Oct. 16-31st; and $50 at the door.  A box lunch is $8.00 extra.  Tickets are available at DefendingTruthConference.com.  Guest speakers include: Dr. Stephen C. Topic:  “Community Reader Day”


The Christian County Literacy Council is calling our community to observe the 23rd “Community Reader Day” on Friday, November 7th.  A child’s ability to read is influenced by home and school environments and by the whole community.  “Community Reader Day” seeks to inspire all area children to become readers who are eager to learn.  Be among the 275 volunteers reading to the 8,000 students in Christian County’s 13 elementary schools, preschools, Head Start, and day care centers.  You may contact Beverly Whitfield at the Literacy Council Office at 270-962-7114.

Topic:  The Elliot Howard Band in Concert


Everyone is cordially invited to hear The Elliot Howard Band in concert on Sunday, September 28th, at 6:00 p.m.  The concert will be at the Hopkinsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located at 2701 Faircourt.  Admission is free, but please bring a can food item as a donation to the food pantry.  Come and enjoy some Bluegrass Gospel, Contemporary Christian Praise and Worship Music, and fellowship.

Topic:  Bethel Berry Baptist Church’s 126th Church Anniversary and  Homecoming


Bethel Berry Baptist Church, located at 6975 Old Madisonville Road, will be celebrating their 126th Church Anniversary and Annual Homecoming Day on Sunday, September 28th.  Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship at 11:15.  The 2:00 afternoon guests will be Pastor Timothy Callazo and the Gordonville Baptist Church.  Dinner will be served.  A special invitation is extended to families who were members or had family members that were part of the Bethel Berry Baptist Church family.  The public is welcomed to come and be blessed too.  Host Pastor is Randy Meriwether.
