The public is invited to view the art exhibit by Linda Pierce at the Hopkinsville Community College Auditorium Gallery on Talbert Drive in Hopkinsville, KY.  The exhibit is entitled, “Friends”.  A reception will be held on Saturday, May 9th, from 10:00 a.m. until noon.  Come and be blessed.

Topic:  “Elijah Prayer Army Jerusalem”


Lars Enarson with “Elijah Prayer Army Jerusalem” is coming to Hopkinsville on Saturday, May 30th, at 1:00 p.m., at Bradford Square Mall on Ft. Campbell Blvd.  You will hear an urgent up-date.  Lars resides with his wife, Harriet, in Israel where he produces a weekly TV show titled, “On the Walls of Jerusalem”.  It airs on satellite networks in both English and Swedish.  He has a weekly video prayer alert with prophetic insights, reports, and specific prayer points on the Middle East.  He is also an author and his latest book, Jerusalem-The Joy of the Whole Earth, will be released during 2015.  His website is: thewatchman.org.  A special offering will be received for the ministry of Israel that day, which is again May 30th at 1:00 p.m. at Bradford Square Mall in Hopkinsville, KY.

Topic:  “Cornerstone Community Carnival”


Families and individuals are invited to “Cornerstone Community Carnival”  on Saturday, May 30th, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.  Cornerstone Baptist Church is located at 1306 Highland Lick Road in Russellville, KY.  The carnival is free with food, music, and fun.  There will even be free van service to get you there and take you home.  The “Bye Faith Band” will be playing.  The free food includes: hot dogs, popcorn, lemonade, peanuts, and snow cones.  There will be free games and prizes, and drawings for gift cards, a kid’s bike, toys, and train rides.

High school seniors across Kentucky are now receiving Financial Aid Award letters from the colleges they have applied to.  As parents and seniors look for the best Financial Aid package, remember to look for not only “how much” Financial Aid is being offered, but “what kind”.  $10,000 in scholarships at an expensive school is a better offer than $10,000 in student loan debt from a less expensive school.  Please examine award letters carefully.  This “Financial Aid Tip of the Month” is from the KY Higher Education Assistance Authority.

Topic:  Kamp Sunrise


Pennyroyal Hospice will have their annual “Kamp Sunrise”, which is a grief camp for youth ages 6-17 who have lost a loved one in the last two years, on Friday, June 19th.  The camp will be held at Living Hope Baptist Church from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  Living Hope Baptist Church is located at 6305 Eagleway Bypass in Hopkinsville, KY.  There is no cost to attend, but registration is required no later than June 2nd.  To register or if you have any questions, please call Kim Baggett, Pennyroyal Hospice Bereavement Coordinator, at 270-885-6428.

Topic:  Sidewalk Upgrades


A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has started sidewalk upgrade work along Skyline Drive from Ft. Campbell Blvd. to East 9th St. (Pembroke Rd.) in Hopkinsville, KY.  Sometime in mid-April, the contractor plans to begin milling and asphalt paving along this same section.  Motorists should be alert for lane restrictions and equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Topic:  VBS at Maranatha Baptist Church


Maranatha Baptist Church, located at 205 State Line Road in Oak Grove, KY, will have Vacation Bible School June 1st through June 5th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. each night.  The theme for their Vacation Bible School is “A Journey through the Wilderness” and is for ages 4 years-old to 6th grade.  VBS offers fun for all ages with snacks, crafts, games, and Bible stories.

On Sunday, May 31st, “Abiding Grace”, a local Southern Gospel band from Cadiz, KY, will perform at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church, located at 79 N. Topic:  “Central KY 704 Cornfield Revival”


The “Central KY 704 Cornfield Revival” began in Columbia, KY, last June and hasn’t stopped.  The tent is coming to Hopkinsville.  The first meeting will be Thursday, June 11th, at the Shekinah Glory Ministries, located at 4925 Dawson Springs Road.  The tent meetings will continue Friday, June 12th, through Monday, June 15th, at the Sheriff’s Posse Grounds, located at 4400 Witty Lane, off Hwy. 109, Northwest of Hopkinsville.  Guest speakers include Derek Kelly of Florida and Bobby Brown and Troy Long of Central KY.  Worship leaders include James Dillingham, Stephen Gibbs, Debbie Bales, Darrell Roberts, and Don Hershman.  Feel free to bring acoustic instruments, flags, and banners.  Services begin at 7:00 nightly.  For more information, call 270-484-0249,

Grapeview Baptist Church in Madisonville, KY, will have their 2015 Women’s Conference, titled, “All Things New”, on Friday, June 12th, and Saturday, June 13th.  Lisa Harper will be the guest speaker.  She is an author and Bible study teacher.  Praise and worship will be lead by Courtney Lutz with The Childress Family. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. June 12th and the conference will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. that evening.  On Saturday, June 13th, complimentary breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. and the conference will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. that day. Topic:  2015 Gospel Concert Series



The 2015 Gospel Concert Series is coming to Northside Baptist Church, located at 101 Dawson Road in Princeton, KY.  On Saturday, June 13th, the series will feature the groups: “Beyond the Ashes”, “The Jerry Simpson Band”, and the “Northside Baptist Praise Team”. The public is invited to a book signing event on Sunday, May 31st, at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center in Clarksville, TN, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  It is free and open to the public.  The book is about: 50 Magnificent Men telling their stories and sharing their faith to help motivate and inspire every man to win.  Author Treva R. Topic:  “Trash for Cash Program”


The “Trash for Cash Program” has officially opened for 2015.  Registration packets may be picked up and returned to the Public Works Complex, located at 705 North Main Street in Hopkinsville, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  The “Trash for Cash Program” will run from now until October 31st, or until the required 158 miles are completed.  Tax identification numbers for all non-profit groups are required in order to participate in the program.  Please contact Robin Charles at 270-348-5881 or by email at robincharles@bellsouth.net to schedule a day you would like to participate.

Topic:  Fourth of July Program


The Jefferson Davis State Historic Site, located at Hwy. 68/80 in Fairview, KY, will observe the site’s first annual 4th of July Program, with reading and signing of the Declaration of Independence.  The park will have the parade of soldiers representing the Revolutionary War to present, craft vendors, food vendors, period music, and dance.  Visitors will have the opportunity to sign the declaration.  All events are free except for monument and museum tours, which cost $8 per adult / $7 for military or senior citizens / $6 for children ages 5-12.  For more information, call 270-889-6100 or visit parks.ky.gov.
